SUNSHINE HOUSE

Seamless Blend of Classic and Modern at Sunshine House

No detail was spared in the creation of this extraordinary 4,200 sq. ft. Victorian residence on Sunshine Street. Originally constructed in the early 1900s as an upper and lower duplex, the property was re-envisioned by its new owners as a gracious single-family home designed for modern living. A substantial 2,200 sq. ft., two-story addition was constructed along the side of the house, dramatically expanding the footprint while respecting the proportions and architectural language of the original structure. The entire home was taken down to the studs and meticulously rebuilt, allowing for updated systems, improved structural integrity, and a cohesive, reimagined floor plan.

Preserving the classic charm of the Victorian era was central to the renovation. Period-appropriate detailing was carefully restored and replicated, while contemporary elements were thoughtfully integrated to support today’s lifestyle. The result is a seamless blend of historic character and refined modern luxury.

The craftsmanship throughout the home is exceptional. More than 40 slabs of stone were incorporated into kitchens, baths, fireplaces, and feature walls, adding richness, durability, and visual impact. Every element was custom designed, from the intricate casework and built-in cabinetry to the moldings, doors, and window trim—all expertly custom milled to achieve a cohesive and elevated aesthetic. Even the roof rafters were crafted with precision, reinforcing both the home’s structural performance and its architectural authenticity.

Expansive living areas offer flexibility for entertaining and everyday family life, while carefully scaled rooms maintain warmth and intimacy. Thoughtful space planning ensures a natural flow between the original home and the new addition, creating continuity across all three levels.

This remarkable transformation stands as a testament to quality craftsmanship, visionary design, and a deep respect for architectural heritage—resulting in a timeless, welcoming home built to be enjoyed for generations.
